I admit it. I’m a guy who spent a good 40 years of my life being sixteen.

Okay, so maybe not such good years. Depends on your definition. You certainly can’t rely on anything coming from yrs trly, a guy who spent so much time thinking he was still a rebellious teenager.

The Dark Days are Here

Nope, I’m not talking about personal health or political endangerment, I’m talking about the everyday world that I’m becoming more and more familiar with. Here’s what I learned today from three very different comic strips:

That’s Layla demonstrating her place in the pecking order. Fortunately, situations like this only occur six or seven times a day. In other words, “YIKES!”

Not so long ago I’d be able to say that the convo above occurred at least six or seven times a day. But I’m happy to report that I’m learning from my past mistakes. In other words, I still find myself putting the juice in the fridge door–because there’s no other shelf tall enough–and instead of saying “anything” in a situation like this I say, “Sorry.”

Most of my current or former showbiz friends and I are pretty much in agreement with the sentiment expressed by the Horse. But when it comes to dreaming the impossible dream, I do my absolute best to keep my mouth firmly shut. As far as I’m concerned, the dream is merely a McGuffin many of us use to justify what I’ve learned is the most important thing in life, which is, of course, THE JOURNEY.

I admit, though, that what makes my journey extra wonderful is the love of an exceptional partner, AKA Gwen the Beautiful. Without her, there would be nothing worth dreaming about.
