Unfortunately, my balance is far from outstanding and it’s too early in the morning for me to come up with a better pun. Not far from my mind, however, (actually, never far from my mind) is that both usages of “outstanding” apply here.
Medical bills. Ouch! One more item to add to the “Can’t love ’em, gotta have ’em” box of life.

Let me get this straight. Old age now is funny?
Not that I’m objecting to all the comic strips I find that are mocking it. Hell, for me, dogs and mockery are the only way to survive the aging process.
Except…well, no one survives aging, do they?

I wrote a sort-of-a-memoir about fifteen years ago, for a major entertainment biz publishing house. I always suspected this was why it ended up remaindered.
I still have two moving cartons filled with what’s left of the books. Haven’t even been able to give ’em away.
